The Yacht

PRIMA is a 2001 Lagoon 410 sailing catamaran which can accommodate up to 4 guests in two private cabins. Catamarans are a newer-style yacht whose popularity has grown in recent years for several reasons—their width gives them stability under sail and at anchor, while their shallow draft (water depth needed below the boat) allows them to pull right up close to that deserted beach. Sailing catamarans offer easy access to the water with easy, broad steps down their transoms, which makes them very popular for fishing, swimming and other water sports.

Thus, you will usually get where you want to go in less time, allowing more time for land-side exploration and other leisure activities. You may also be surprised to learn that catamarans are extremely stable. Unlike mono-hulled sailboats—which tend to heel (tilt) sharply to one side in a brisk wind—catamarans remain level while sailing. This stability helps prevent any tendency towards seasickness and allows all our passengers to have a more enjoyable sailing experience without having to worry about maintaining their balance underway!

From the moment you step on board PRIMA, you will be amazed at both her on-deck and interior spaciousness. This extra room allows everyone on board to find a quiet spot for themselves to read, sunbathe or just spend time in quiet reflection. The spacious decks also make moving around the catamaran easy because there are fewer trip hazards and steps between inside and out. On the forward deck, the area between the hulls is covered with a springy, comfortable “trampoline.” This provides for extra lounging space and is the perfect spot for sunbathing or stargazing. Take it from us—life doesn’t get any better than listening to the surf sliding gently past the hulls underneath you while PRIMA glides quietly along under sail.

The cockpit is larger than normal with spectacular visibility and enough seating space for all passengers to rest in the shade or share a meal in the open air. The interior of PRIMA is also amazingly spacious. The beautifully-designed, elevated main salon (well above sea level) is perfect for relaxing and entertaining and its wrap-around windows make for a panoramic view underway or at anchor.

In regards to sleeping accommodations, the dual hull layout allows for maximum privacy, since its guest cabins are located at opposite ends. These two staterooms are equally spacious, have queen-sized, rectangular beds and share a large, separate head and shower. In addition, there is more storage room than in your typical monohull sailboat, so passengers have less worry about over-packing and the interior roominess of a catamaran makes it feel more homelike than a typical sailboat.

Whether you are looking for the perfect active getaway for a foursome of friends or a safe, enjoyable cruising experience for family members of all ages, a catamaran charter aboard PRIMA is the ideal answer to your sun-filled sailing vacation.
